VÖFF - Väätsa Nights' Film Festival (Väätsa Ööde FilmiFestival)
On 9 December, 2016 an over-school film night VÖFF - Väätsa Nights' Film Festival took place in Väätsa Basic School. It was called according to the world-famous film festival in Estonia PÖFF - Dark Nights' Film Festival. Students all over school took part in the festival, also parents and local people. An event was organised in the frame of studying the film history of Estonia and Estonian films through the times were shown there. There were three sessions of films and film classes for different genres: historical and classical films, nature films, cartoons and animations, childrens' and youth films, comedies, documentaries, musical films. Each student had to watch films from 3 different genres, fill the pass and later discuss about films in Estonian and English lessons. An overview about the film history was given, during the breaks quizes about the films and dance workshops were carried out. Materials here.
The student pass for watching films Each student was given a pass where they had to write their name, film, genre, actor/actress and to take a sign by the teacher of a workshop.
